Late summer's day

Red Kite

Early morning just as it was getting warm there were 5 Red Kites and 2 Buzzards over our house

In the afternoon we spent some time watching ducks and a squirrel

He was burying his acorns

In the evening we saw a ladybird larvae and a heron.

Trail camera - Deer

We left the trail camera in the field for an hour while we took the dogs for a walk.

We had hoped to get a fox because there were a lot of fox poo and pigeon feathers.

Pigeons day 17

This is day 17 that we have been watching our nest of pigeons.

They hatched somewhere between 13th of August and the 23rd of August, which means they won't leave the nest before the 16th of September.

I'm not sure how they will still fit in the nest as it look's too small already.

On the film set for The Burrowers

Today we visited the film set, in Somerset, for the badger parts in the TV programme, The Burrowers.

The badgers that were in the programme have now been released, but here are 3 badgers that are still in the rescue centre, Secret world. They are fast asleep.

Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital

On the day we visited there were 1063 animals.

It is the worlds busiest wildlife hospital!!

Most of the animals that are treated at Tiggywinkles are released back in to the wild. The ones that can't be released are kept in the visitors centre.

They had 226 Hedgehog's. We only saw four or five because the rest was asleep.

They had four foxes

They had two Ravens

 They had lots of red kite, we saw two red kites that used to be patients at Tiddywinkles and were released but still come back to visit.

Pigeon Update

                                                                                   Day 11
               When we looked at our Wood Pigeons nest we saw two baby pigeons.
              We are not sure when they hatched because we have not been looking at it recently.
